Commencing his career as an Air Force Officer, Andrew has held a range of resilience and specialist risk roles, focussing on high impact low probability events; consequence management; systemic, and emerging risk. He has held a variety of positions focussed on managing and navigating uncertainty including strategy development, strategic foresight, emergency and crisis management. Andrew has deep experience working in radically uncertain environments and navigating the needs of diverse and often competing stakeholders. He works collaboratively to develop, introduce and deliver systems that position organisations to navigate uncertainty and complexity. With a combination of corporate and government experience, Andrew has an excellent understanding of complex dynamic organisations. Andrew brings the following key skills and knowledge to any position:  Leadership - Andrew’s leadership responsibilities range from administrative and policy staff, to operational investigative and analysis teams. He has broad experience building specialist teams.  Applied Research and Analysis – Andrew combines practical applied research experience, with formal research qualifications. With a qualitative research background, he uses small data to identifying weak signals and understanding the ‘why’ behind trends to better understand root causes and develop sustainable solutions.  Systems Thinking – Working with critical infrastructure and social interventions, Andrew has deep experience in consequential thinking. He has developed tools and teams to support second and tertiary order thinking, and works with executives to identify elements of systemic significance to support organisations to identify systemic consequences.  Strategic Foresight – As an intelligence and a systemic risk practitioner, Andrew has broad experience in the use of strategic foresight tools to identify emerging risks and weak signals. He incorporates alternative analysis into his foresight practice, to better understand the systemic effect of interventions. A lifelong learner with a unique mix of experience and multiple tertiary qualifications, Andrew brings a multidisciplinary view and diverse thinking to problem definition, decision making and developing strategic solutions. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an alumnus of executive education programs from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the University of Oxford’s Said Business School, the University of Cambridge’s, Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Judge Business School.
