Hussam Abou Shaer is a distinguished technology and business executive with over 25 years of leadership experience driving large-scale digital transformation, AI adoption, and enterprise growth across the Middle East. His career spans senior roles at global industry leaders including Microsoft and Cisco, where he built and led high-performing commercial organizations and strategic industry programs across Financial Services, Telecom, Government, Retail, and Aviation sectors. Hussam currently serves as AI Infrastructure Commercial Sales Director at HUMAIN, playing a strategic role in shaping and enabling sovereign AI capabilities in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. In this capacity, he leads enterprise and national-level engagements focused on high-performance compute, AI data platforms, and next-generation cloud architecture — accelerating innovation, securing data sovereignty, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s digital ambitions under Vision 2030. His work centers on enabling the foundation for the region’s AI economy, fostering deep partnerships across government entities, leading enterprises, and global technology OEMs and ecosystem players. Hussam is known for his ability to translate complex technology advancements into clear strategic value, business outcomes, and nation-scale strategic advantage. Before joining HUMAIN, Hussam held senior leadership roles at Microsoft, where he led enterprise sales and transformation initiatives for Financial Services and Telecom, and at Cisco, where he supported industry modernization programs and strategic digital initiatives across the region. His leadership style blends commercial excellence with customer advocacy, innovation leadership, and long-term partnership building. Hussam is also a graduate of the Certified Chair™ Executive Program, equipping him with advanced capabilities in board governance, strategic oversight, corporate stewardship, and advisory leadership. He actively contributes to executive-level strategic discussions, operating at the intersection of business leadership, national digital transformation, and emerging technologies. He holds two MBA degrees — one in Finance & Banking from SBS Swiss Business School, and another in Business Administration & Marketing from the American University in London. His academic foundation is further strengthened by executive education programs from INSEAD, Cornell University, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied organizational leadership, digital business strategy, and innovation management.
